Smooth, Stunning, and Confident: Your Guide to JEUVEAU®, BOTOX®, & DYSPORT®
Pre-Treatment Guidelines for JEUVEAU®, BOTOX®, and DYSPORT® Injections
To ensure the best possible results and minimize the risk of complications, please review the following guidelines before your appointment:
- Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup, lotions, or skincare products.
- If you have a special event planned, schedule your treatment at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance to allow full results to settle.
- If you have recently been ill, wait at least 2 weeks after a mild virus and 4 weeks after a serious virus before receiving injections to allow your immune system to recover.
- Wait at least 2 weeks after receiving a vaccine before undergoing treatment.
- If you are currently taking antibiotics or steroids, complete the course of medication before your appointment and inform your provider.
- Avoid over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), aspirin, Aleve, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, or vitamin E for 3 to 5 days before treatment, as they may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding. If you take a prescribed blood thinner, consult your physician before treatment.
- Refrain from consuming alcohol for 48 hours prior to your appointment, as it can contribute to bruising and bleeding.
- If you are on an immunosuppressant or have a neuromuscular disorder, consult your physician for clearance before receiving injections.
- If you have recently had laser treatments, microneedling, or chemical peels, ensure that the treated areas are completely healed before proceeding with injections.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours before treatment to reduce the risk of swelling or bruising.
- Inform your provider of all medical conditions and medications you are currently taking.

Proper aftercare is essential to achieving optimal results and minimizing potential side effects. Please follow these guidelines:

- Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for at least 72 hours to prevent the product from migrating to unintended areas.
- Remain upright for 4 to 6 hours after treatment and avoid lying down during this period.
- Sleep on your back for the first few nights to minimize pressure on the treated areas.
- Avoid heat exposure for at least 24 hours, including direct sunlight, hot showers, saunas, and tanning beds.
- Refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 hours to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications for 48 hours to minimize the risk of bruising.
- Mild headaches are common within the first 24 to 48 hours. If necessary, you may take Tylenol as directed on the packaging.
- Do not undergo any additional facial procedures in the treated areas for at least 2 weeks after injections.
- If you experience any concerns, contact your provider during business hours. In the event of an emergency, seek immediate medical attention.
- Schedule a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks to assess your results and determine if any adjustments are needed.

- For natural-looking enhancements that refine and restore facial features
- For immediate results with little to no downtime
Why Consider Dermal Fillers?
- Enhance lip volume with a subtle, natural look or a more plump appearance
- Smooth wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth and lips

How Long Do Results Last?
The longevity of results depends on the specific dermal filler product used and individual factors. In general, results can last between 6 to 18 months before a maintenance treatment is needed.
