What is Lumecca?
Lumecca is a revolutionary IPL device that delivers powerful light energy to rejuvenate and repair damaged skin. Using broad-spectrum light, it targets unwanted pigmentation and vascular lesions while boosting collagen production, leaving your skin smoother, brighter, and more youthful.
What Can You Expect?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.
During Treatment
During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour.
After Treatment
Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a colour change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.
Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks.

How Does Lumecca Work?
IPL pigmentation treatment works by targeting cells with colour (chromophores). The frequency of light heats the skin, prompting the body’s innate healing ability by causing the breakdown of the unwanted discoloured cells. As the healing process takes place, the skin is rejuvenated and regenerates without hyperpigmentation.

Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanner) for 3–4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Use SPF 30+ daily when outdoors.
- Discontinue use of irritant or active skincare products (like retinol or exfoliants) 2–3 days
- before treatment.
- Shave the treatment area if applicable. Long or dark hair may absorb light and cause irritation.
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, or deodorant in the treatment area.
- Inform your provider if you have had recent light, laser, or chemical treatments in the area.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- Use SPF 30+ daily for 3 weeks after treatment to protect treated skin.
- Avoid direct sunlight, heat exposure, or tanning for 3 weeks.
- Apply gentle moisturizer as needed; makeup may be applied immediately after treatment.
- Mild redness or darkening of spots is normal and will fade over 1–3 weeks.
- Do not pick or scratch treated areas; allow dark spots to flake naturally.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours.
- Notify your provider if blistering, excessive redness, or swelling occurs.
Post-Treatment Instructions
For best results, most patients require a series of **2–5 sessions spaced every 3–4 weeks**.
Pigmented lesions usually respond faster, while vascular areas may require additional treatments. Your treatment plan will be customized based on your skin type, goals, and response.
Results are cumulative — each session builds on the last for clearer, brighter, more even-toned skin.
